Welcome to the DSBC website - news of school crews, results and events.

James Clarke, stroke of the GB Lightweight Four, World Champions in 2007, talks to DSBC crews at London Rowing Club before the Schools Head.

The Boat Club, founded in 1847, overlooked by Durham Cathedral. Pupils from the school have gone on to represent Great Britain at Junior, University and Senior World Championships, Commonwealth and Olympic Regattas.

2007-8 season - GB and England representation-National Champions and medallists -  wins across all age groups at all levels - totalling over 55 for the season.





NEWS...
20/7 - Gold for Tom Edwards at the Coupe and for DSBC at Nat Champs - J16 4- Gold and Bronze in the JM 4- with Jamie Kirkwood winning Gold in Open Lwt 2x and representing England at Home Countries.
12/7 - Tom Edwards selected to row for GB in the Coupe de la Jeunesse - in the pair - details see the website.
5/7 - Talkin Tarn cancelled
23/6 - 1st 8 pre qualify for the PE Cup, Henley Royal.
13-14/6 - Good racing at Durham - wins in Champ 2x and Elite Quads - very tough racing in the Eight and close racing in the Fours and Quads.
7/6 - Hexham - win in Sen 3 2- with plenty of younger end racing.
1/6 -Win at Met Regatta for Tom Edwards in Sen 1 pairs.
25/5 - Half term training - see holiday training
24/5  - National Schools Regatta - Challenging conditions - then cancelled - but J15s made semis before cancellation and 1st Eight survive - 3 other Eights sink in their race! Silver Medal in Champ Single.
17/5 - Tees Regatta - wins for the Girls Quad and Junior Pair.
16/5 - Thanking Simon Blanckley of Sibsport for the 1st Eight kit sponsorship. See Supporters page.
10/5- Durham City Regatta - some interesting racing without the right results, and some interesting umpiring.....
4/5 - Boat Club Dinner - 21st June - contact School for your ticket.
3/5 - Junior Pair wins at York Spring with some early J14 promise.
20/4 - Tom Edwards races at the GB selection Regatta at Dorney coming 6th in the A final.
19/4 - 11 pupils race for the North in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta.
12-13/4 - Ghent Spring International Regatta - wins in the Coxed Four and silvers in composite crews in Junior Eights and Womens Eights.
25/3 - Tom Edwards attends GB Spring Assessments in Nottingham.

15/3 - 1st Eight race full course - coming 209th beating all but 1 of the Durham College Eights and all local club boats.
4/3 1st Eight race at the Schools Head coming 24th in Champ Eights - unfortunately course got shortened due to weather conditions.
1/3 - First ever School Girls' Eight at the Women's Head  - 219th.
29/2 - Two pupils invited to GB Spring Assessments - Tom Edwards and Marcus Haworth.
16/2 - Good racing at the South Yorkshire Head - with a Sen 3 4+ racing well and singles with a win in J18. Tom Edwards and Marcus Haworth at GB trials the same weekend.
2/2 - 9 wins at Durham Small Boats Head - Sen 2,3, Novice  singles, Girls and Boys Novice double and Girls Quad and Sen 2 pair. See here for results.
1/12 - Good results at Rutherford Head - 1st IV second in Sen 4 coxed Fours, J16s race in a composite J16 Eight coming 3rd in Novice and the first ever DSBC Girls Eight races.
28/11 - School miss out on being overall winner at the University's Senate Cup by 0.1 sec! Isabel Minuth fastest womens sculler.
17/11 - GB Trials - good first results with Tom Edwards and James Pinner coming 79th and 93rd respectively and Phil Anderson 12th in J16s.
10/11 - Wear LDS - last in the series and wins in J18, Novice, Sen 4, Elite and Vet singles with the girls winning Sen 4 doubles. Good results racing from all school crews.
3/11 - Hylton LDS - just the girls senior squad racing but successfully picking up a win in Sen4 coxed Quads.
27/10 - Tees LDS and SBH - good racing in all boat types over the two events with a win in Novice single and plenty of high placings in quads, doubles, pairs and singles.
13/10 - Wansbeck LDS - wins for the J16 Quad - fastest boat on the day, Girls coxed Quad, J15 boys coxed Quad and Sen 4 "Ciampolillo" double. Good first races from the J15 girls and J14 boys. Photos here and results here.
6/10 - Tyne LDS - good first races from the Girls Squad - in Novice coxed Quads and Novice Double - results here.

1/9/07 - North of England Sprint Champs - wins for the School Quad with good racing from singles and Quad combinations.
22/7 - National Championships - Composite Quad come 5th in Junior Quads with the J16 pair winning Bronze.
7/7 Talkin Tarn Regatta - wins for the seniors in the Quad and Double with Tom Edwards winning J16 single.
10/6 Durham Regatta - winners of Novice Eights, WJ15 Doubles.
2/6 Composite Quad race at Metropolitan Regatta - tough experience!
25/5 National Schools - J15s move up national rankings, J16s fail to make semis.
19/5 - Wind reduces Tees Regatta races but wins in J18 Quad and mixed Quad and Girls win Novice Fours.
12/5 Durham City Regatta - J13 Girls win Double.
28/4 - Chester le Street Regatta - Wins for Sen 2 coxed Four and the J15 Squad in J16 and 15 doubles and J15 Quad.
21/4 - Junior Inter Regional Regatta - 8 pupils race for the North - J15 2x coming 9th and the J16s coming 4th in coxed Fours and combing with 3 others to come 4th in J16 Eights.
14-15/4 Ghent International Spring Regatta - TheQuad comes 3rd in Junior Quads on the saturday, the J16s come 2nd in J16s coxless Fours and 5th in J18 coxed Fours, on Sunday the J16s get a Silver in coxless Fours and 4th in J18 coxed Fours. The 1st Four comes in 4th in Junior Fours. See Training Camp page for photos. Results can be seen here
15/3 - National Junior Sculling Head and Schools Head - Good results -J15s in top half, 18th out of 40, J16s improve and Seniors in Angel BC coming 11th in Junior Quads. J16s and J18s jump in an Eight at Schools Head coming 31st.
4/3 InterRegional Trials - J15 2x selected and J16 4+ in the Four,Eight and the Pair tbc. Results here.
3/3 Tyne Head - Girls J16 Four race in Novice and first outing for the senior crew in coxed Fours.
10/2 - South Yorkshire Head - Good performances from the J15s in preparation for Junior Inter Regional Trials - J15 2x coming 2nd and J15 1x in first race coming 4th.
3/2 - Durham Small Boats Head - Wins for the Senior Squad in Sen 3 pairs and as part of the fastest boat on the day a J18 Quad with a Cambois and CLS sculler. The J15 Girls won their coxed Quad category with Marcus Haworth coxing the fastest coxed Four of the day. Results here.
6/12 - North East Indoor Rowing Champs - 5 medals in J15 boys and girls and Junior boys and girls.
2/12 - Rutherford Head - J16s win Novice Quad with CLS and the new Eight races as School, Angel, Cambois and Chester le St composite coming 3rd in Sen 3.
18/11 - Fours Head - the 1st crew race in Junior Quads over the Championship course coming 8th in their event.
11/11 - Wear LDS - 1st crew win overall and get awarded Fastest Quad of the LDS series, this is followed by the J16s winning Novice Quads coming 2nd overall, the J15s won their class and the J15 girls won the double.
28/10 - Tees LDS and SBH - 1st crew win Sen 4 Quad and fastest coxless Four in the afternoon, a mix of J15s and 16s win Sen 4 coxed Quad.
14/10 - 1st Quad overall winners at Wansbeck, with J16 Quad having a good row as fastest coxed Quad. Results here
7/10 - 1st Quad overall winners at Berwick, J16s win Novice coxed quad and J15 quad win J15s. See results here
18/9 1st IV come 3rd in Sen 4 Quads, or 2nd in J18 Quads at Boston Marathon, despite weed issues! See photos.
3/9 Parents Taster - 23/9 1pm - 4pm at the Boathouse
